MISSION STATEMENT

The Touched by Christopher Foundation, established by Patrizia and Robert Cassaniti in memory of their son Christopher Cassaniti, aims to support families facing the tragic loss of a loved one at work in NSW. Following the devastating scaffold collapse incident that claimed Christopher’s life, the community’s overwhelming support inspired the Cassaniti family to give back. The foundation provides crucial assistance to grieving families, offering three months’ worth of groceries tailored to the household size and $1500 towards utilities. Recognizing the financial strain faced by those left behind, the foundation has expanded its support by also contributing $5000 towards mortgage or rent payments. This extra assistance acknowledges the challenges faced by families who lose their primary breadwinners, emphasizing the foundation’s commitment to easing the burden during such difficult times. The Touched by Christopher Foundation’s empathetic approach stems from the Cassaniti family’s own experience, understanding the profound impact of losing a loved one in a workplace tragedy.

Here is an example of what we provide to the fatally injured worker’s immediate family members living in the same household

For example

if there is 3 people affected, it is $20 pp x 3 x 92 days plus $1500 plus $5000 = $12020.00
if there is 4 people affected, it is $20 pp x 4 x 92 days plus $1500 plus $5000 = $13860.00 etc.

Our future long-term goal is to provide the same assistance to all families of all workplace fatalities regardless of industry, nationwide.

In order to be able to achieve this, we need your help.

Coming home safe from work, is a human right NOT A PRIVILEGE.

Although we have events to raise money, we are looking at having companies on board to support our charity via workplace and employee giving programs, companies providing a percentage of sales and services or simply as ongoing sponsors.

As the charity is fully run by volunteers, all funds collected are 100% given to the foundation for its charitable purpose.

Our events will be our main source of fundraising and all money raised and collected via donations, nett profit from ticket sales or entry fees to each activity, raffles, and auctions are 100% given to the foundation for its charitable purpose.

All our activities and events planned are targeted to individuals and companies that are mainly industry related and will benefit the families in need as per our constitution.

What can you do

Over the Black Summer of 2020, we also supported families who tragically lost a loved one while fighting the bushfires. We hope to be able to grow our supporter base to enable us to serve more workplace industries in more locations in the near future.
